Commitment Error Results in Tax Increase for Edgecomb

Although the residents of Edgecomb approved a flat-line budget for Fiscal Year 2015 at their annual town meeting May 17, a two-year tax commitment error will result in an increase of two mills in taxes for the upcoming year.

Two Men Arrested on Trafficking Charges in Waldoboro

Two 20-year-old men, one from Waldoboro and another from New York City, were arrested by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency in Waldoboro May 16 and charged with trafficking in oxycodone, a Class B felony.

Two Lincoln County residents have been charged with aggravated drug trafficking after a search of their car after a late night traffic stop May 15 resulted in the discovery $72,000 worth of heroin.

Wiscasset Approves $9.4 Million School Budget

By a vote of 75-35, Wiscasset voters approved the $9.4 million school budget as recommended by the Wiscasset School Board at the budget adoption meeting on May 15.
